For the Adventure of Being Alive

Iron Monkey is a ketch rigged sailing yacht, build in the Netherlands at the renowned Jongert shipyard in 1982. Build from steel with a teak interrior, she has been build and designed with the craftsman ship only found on these classic ships. The pictures speak for them selves.

After spending a winter in the Canary islands she was sailed back to the Netherlands where, during the summer, we overhauled the engine room, remade the teak decks, serviced the rigging and fully repainted her.

Coming back across the North sea, crossing the bay of Biscay late November, she will for now be based in the Balearic islands, where we hope, we can now  share the enjoyment of sailing her, with you.

Sleeping on the big blue

Take a look at the beautiful cabins we have on board. The Jongert architect style is practical and astonishing. All cabins are with an ensuite bathroom.

The Master Cabin

This cabin on starboard comes with a double bed. On the opposite side is a couch, which can be turned into a bunkbed or “or Pullman’s berth”. The cabin has an ensuite bathroom.

The Guest Cabin

Opposite to the master cabin (portside), but with two or three single beds. This cabin also comes with an ensuite bathroom.

The Twin Cabin

The cabin portside forward fits two persons in a bunk bed configuration. This cabin comes with a slightly smaller bathroom that shares the shower with the crew cabin with a ingenious circular sliding door.

The Crew Cabin

We also sleep sometimes! For this we use the starboard forward cabin, which has a upper “twijfelaar” so a couple could fit in here, and in this way a possible third person crew member could be accommodated.
